With whom does your allegiance lay; House Stark of Winterfell, or House Targaryen of Westeros?

HBO’s Game of Thrones is over, and we sit with great anticipation for George R.R. Martin’s final instalment of the remarkable A Song of Ice and Fire book series. As we await, we may fancy a little tipple to pass the time. Unfortunately, the Westeros wine of choice, Arbor Gold, is unavailable to us real-world dwellers. Thankfully, in an effort to bring a little fantasy magic to our drinks cabinets and GOT merchandise collection, Johnnie Walker has entered into an alliance with HBO in order to distil two collectable whiskies. These two blended scotch whiskies symbolise the two houses of Stark and Targaryen in both bottle design and flavour.

If you prefer your whisky in single malt form, you can choose your dram from one of the nine houses of Westeros.

There's nothing else for it. It's time to sit back, drink and know things.

Johnnie Walker Song of Ice House Stark Limited Edition, 70cl, 40.2%1 of 6

Johnnie Walker Song of Ice House Stark Limited Edition, 70cl, 40.2%

"A crisp and clean taste inspired by ice, best enjoyed as a highball combined with chilled bitter lemon.""A Song of Ice" represents the house of the First Men, the Starks of Winterfell. With a white, blue and grey forest bottle wrap emblazoned with an alert Direwolf. The whisky is blended with single malts from Clynelish, fittingly one of Scotland's northernmost distilleries, and releases a crisp, clean taste like the exacting force of ice that shapes mountains and halts rivers.

Johnnie Walker Song of Fire House Targaryen Limited Edition, 70cl, 40.8%2 of 6

Johnnie Walker Song of Fire House Targaryen Limited Edition, 70cl, 40.8%

"Spicy and smoky channelling the spirit of fire, best enjoyed as a highball combined with chilled ginger beer.""A Song of Fire" represents the royal Valyrian bloodline of House Targaryen with a dragon rearing its defiant head on a field of red embers. The iconic Johnnie Walker Striding Man breaks with convention to face left, facing off with the Stark bottle Strider when placed side by side. The whisky channels the dragon spirit with rich and spicy flavours, laced with subtle smoke from the peated malts of the Caol Ila distillery.

Johnnie Walker White Walker Limited Edition, 70cl, 41.7%3 of 6

Johnnie Walker White Walker Limited Edition, 70cl, 41.7%

"Notes of caramelised sugar and vanilla, red berries and a touch of orchard fruits."The two house whiskies join the White Walker edition released in 2018 featuring a White Walker Strider, crafted to be enjoyed immediately after being cooled in the freezer and served over ice. The extreme cold of the bottle will also activate some hidden ink in the label, revealing a small reminder of the power which slides down from beyond the wall.
