The critically-acclaimed Game of Thrones TV series may have concluded, but thankfully you can still experience a little of the magic with the help of some powerful flavours.

In collaboration with HBO, a number of famous distilleries have utilised their skills to craft a catalogue of premium alcoholic beverages, resulting in the ultimate Game of Thrones Single Malt collection. Representing each of the seven iconic Houses of Westeros and the Night’s Watch, each distillery has been chosen to reflect a house's location, while the whisky itself has had its flavours crafted to perfectly capture a house’s culture.

If you prefer your whiskies blended, you can choose your tipple and house from Johnnie Walker's limited edition selection.

Winter Special: Limited Edition Six Kingdoms - Mortlach Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 15 Years, 700cl 46%

Mortlach Single Malt Scotch Whisky Aged 15 Years

The Mortlach Distillery sits on the site of a historical battle. Here, on the hills above Dufftown, this whisky has been matured in sherry-seasoned casks, before being finished in American Oak ex-bourbon casks. The result of this painstaking process is a bold, smooth taste with notes of vanilla and spice. The metallic gold canister boasts a pen and ink drawing of the illusive and mysterious three-eyed raven.

This true collector’s item, only available in extremely limited quantities throughout December at Amazon UK, The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt.

Game of Thrones House Stark – Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost 700cl 43%, £48

Winterfell is a cold place, creating hardy locals with hardy outlooks. Dalwhinnie is the distillery equivalent, being in the northernmost regions of Scotland. The intense weather conditions are responsible for shaping the signature Winter's Frost's honeyed sweetness and spicy warmth. Naturally, it's best served chilled or over ice. Amazon.co.uk

Game of Thrones House Targaryen – Cardhu Gold Reserve, 700cl, 40%, £48

With ambition as fierce as Daenerys Targaryen's, Helen and Elizabeth Cumming pioneered the Cardu distillery in the 1800s, a time when the whisky industry was almost entirely male-dominated. The single malt they've distilled here brings the fire by encompassing warm spices and toasted oak over hints of clove. Cool this one down by serving over ice. Amazon.co.uk

Game of Thrones House Lannister – Lagavulin 9-Year-Old, 700cl, 46%, £67.75

A legendary household requires a distillery of equal stature. Lagavulin has been crafted on the shores of Islay for 200 years and, through pride and drive, has risen to the top of the field. There's no Iron Throne for this triumph, but there is a flawless caramelised, sweet and smoky single malt. Served neat or with a single drop of water. Amazon.co.uk

Game of Thrones The Night’s Watch – Oban Bay Reserve, 700cl, 43%, £55.32

Sitting at the foot of a cliff, overlooking the bay which separates the west Highlands and the Islands of Scotland, Oban is the Castle Black of distilleries. The whisky produced is balanced between richness and a woody, spicy dryness that would keep even The Night's Watch warm. Serve over ice - chipped from a glacial wall, if you have the resources. Game of Thrones House Greyjoy – Talisker Select Reserve, 700cl, 45.8%, £41.42

The wave battered Talisker distillery sits on the shores of the Isle of Skye, a rugged and remote location that could easily pass as the Iron Isles. This peppery and smoky single malt combines spicy, powerful and sweet elements with salted caramel maritime flavours. Serve neat or with a drop of water. The Drowned God would be more than appeased with a dram of this whisky. Amazon.co.uk

Game of Thrones House Baratheon – Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old, 700cl, 40%, £38

Royal Lochnagar was granted a Royal Warrant after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the distillery in 1848, so to pair this whisky with House Baratheon is clearly the correct choice. This regal liquid's flavour is a balance of spices and fruits, best enjoyed neat. Amazon.co.uk

Game of Thrones House Tyrell – Clynelish Reserve, 700cl, 51.2%, £42.55

The rich and green lands of the Reach are home to House Tyrell of Highgarden. This natural sanctuary of Westeros is matched by the rolling hills of Clynelish, who are also treated to a view of the North Sea. This combination of green fields and sea air has resulted in a light, floral whisky that is not to be underestimated. Like House Tyrell, this drink is underlined by punchy strength and powerful, complex tones. Amazon.co.uk
