Director Ana Lily Amirpour has built herself a successful career so far with A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and The Bad Batch. She's now set up her third film, and has Zac Efron, Kate Hudson and Craig Robison in various stages of jumping aboard Blood Moon.
It's described as an intriguing fantasy movie, inspired by fantasy adventures from decades past, that follows a girl with strange, dangerous who escapes from an asylum in New Orleans. Deadline has heard it'll pair strange, violent, and humorous sequences with a range of music from heavy metal to Italian techno. Well, it wouldn't be Amirpour if it didn't have some strange elements.
She should have the cameras rolling next year, but there's no release date set yet.
Efron will be seen in Harmony Korine's The Beach Bum and is playing serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile. Hudson is part of the cast for musical drama called, appropriately, Music. And Robinson's worked on new bio-drama Dolemite Is My Name alongside Eddie Murphy.
