The latest film by In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths director Martin McDonagh, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, has already been hailed by festival audiences and critics across the pond as another caustic triumph, and while UK cinemagoers have to wait a little while to see it, we're happy to debut three exclusive new posters from the film.
Pitched as a darkly comic drama, the film is set in (and, as the title suggests, just outside) the small town of Ebbing, Missouri. After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) makes a bold move, buying three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby (Woody Harrelson), the town’s revered chief of police. When his second-in-command Officer Dixon (Sam Rockwell), an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing’s law enforcement is only exacerbated.
There's a lot more to it than that, of course, but McDonagh has filled it with his usual brand of vim and vitriol, and also recruited John Hawkes, Peter Dinklage, Caleb Landry Jones, Abbie Cornish and Lucas Hedges to fill out the cast. UK audiences will see the film on 12 January.
