The looming effects of the Disney-Fox deal have yet to be felt by the latter's mutant movie universe, but the X-Men films are already spinning off in all sorts of directions. If the company has its way, a Kitty Pryde movie will hit screens, overseen by Deadpool director Tim Miller.
Pryde (AKA Shadowcat and a host of other aliases), has only appeared in a limited fashion in the X-movies, though she enjoyed more screen time via Ellen Page's portrayal in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Handing the character her own film could allow Miller and any collaborators the chance to exploit her rich and varied comicbook history.
Of course, a film in development doesn't guarantee one will actually be made, and there are plenty of other factors to consider, including that big corporate deal, Miller's own busy schedule working up a new Terminator film with James Cameron. And as of right now, it's in a report from Collider with no official announcement by the studio.
