If anything, Steven Soderbergh has become even more prolific since he took a break from film and TV. With Mosaic now on small screens and psychological thriller Unsane hitting cinemas next month, he's preparing to shoot his next film, sports drama High Flying Bird.

It'll mark a reunion for Soderbergh and the star of his TV series The Knick, Andre Holland. And there is more six-degree action going on, since the script comes from Tarell Alvin McCraney, who co-wrote Moonlight, which featured one Andre Holland in a key role.

High Flying Bird, which Soderbergh has been attached to make since last autumn, will find a sports agent called Dean (Holland) pitching a rookie basketball client on an intriguing and controversial business opportunity during a lockout. Expect this one to be quick – the shoot is scheduled for just two weeks – and potentially once again filmed on an iPhone as with Unsane, though Soderbergh may go even lower tech and shoot with a View-Master. Whatever the equipment, he'll be back on set at the end of this month in New York. Unsane, meanwhile, hits screens on 23 March.
