You might think that, between his film work and shows such as Peaky Blinders and Taboo, writer/producer/director Steven Knight had enough to be going on with. Yet he's now sold a new small screen concept called See to Apple.
The tech company is continuing its efforts to compete with the likes of Amazon and Netflix, and has been on a commissioning spree of late, tapping into its hefty cash reserves to order series such as a new version of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories and a space drama from Battlestar's Ronald D. Moore. Knight's plan is mostly still under wraps, but according to Deadline, it's an epic, world-building drama set in the future.
Hunger Games regular director Francis Lawrence is aboard the show, and will make at least one episode of the series. Apple has yet to solidify the episode amount, but it'll probably be eight in the initial order.
Knight's current project, new big screen drama Serenity, should be out this year. Lawrence has Red Sparrow headed our way on 2 March.
