The Deadpool team might have largely skipped the Super Bowl in terms of promotion (though the film's official Twitter account cannily live-tweeted the game and its ads), but they're back with a brand new poster, as tweeted out by star Ryan Reynolds.
Never one to ignore a nostalgic reference, the new image finds Wade Wilson recreating Jennifer Beals' iconic Flashdance pose, albeit with bullet casings replacing the water. Looks ouchie.
It's the latest phrase in the marketing for the movie, which has plumped for clever and funny over explanatory and maintains the level of fun we saw coming out of the original's campaign. What we do know about the new movie is that Wade will meet Josh Brolin's Nathan Summers, AKA Cable, while the likes of Morena Baccarin's Vanessa, TJ Miller's Weasel and Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead are all back, with new faces including Zazie Beetz' Domino.
Current rumours have a new 'Pool trailer premiering around the release of Black Panther, so perhaps we'll have a better idea of what Wade will be up to then. Or, you know, not. Deadpool 2 is out on 16 May.
