The flood of casting announcements for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood continues, and he's now locked in a key member of the ensemble. Justified veteran Damon Herriman will play the notorious cult leader Charles Manson.
Manson and his crimes will be one of the running themes in Hollywood, set in 1969 as the film industry shifts and Los Angeles lives in fear of the cult's murderous actions. Herriman is just one of the latest recruits, with Rumer Willis, Dreama Walker, Margaret Qualley, Costa Ronin, Victoria Pedretti and Madisen Beaty all joining the film. Willis is playing British actress Joanna Pettet, with Walker as actress/singer Connie Stevens, while Ronin will be Polish actor Voytek Frykowski, a victim of the Manson family. Qualley, meanwhile, is a character called Kitty Kat, Beaty is someone named Katie and Pedretti plays Lulu (not, we assume the British Lulu).
Hollywood will tell several stories, though the anchors are former Western TV series star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), men trying to find their way in a Hollywood neither man recognises. Dalton's connection with the Manson murders is his neighbour, Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie).
The cameras are already rolling, and Tarantino is taking aim at a 26 July 2019 release date.
