The title might prove a challenge for many cinema marquees, but that's not stopping the team behind Ted Bundy drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile. With Zac Efron already aboard as Bundy, Lily Collins is now on to join him as the killer's girlfriend.
Director Joe Berlinger is set to make the film, working from Michael Werde's script. The story explores the crimes of infamous killer Bundy through the eyes of his longtime partner, Elizabeth Kloepfer (Collins). Despite years of denial about his horrific murders, she eventually turned him into the police. But even she wasn't quire aware of the extent of his actions until he began talking about them closer to his execution. “I am really excited about taking Zac and this hugely talented actress to some dark but very human places they may not yet have explored," Berlinger told Deadline about the new casting.
Voltage Pictures is backing this one, and while the project was originally announced (with Efron's casting) at Cannes, the usual wait for financing, etc. means the film will now kick off shooting in January.
