The producers behind new plane terrorism thriller 7500 originally had Paul Dano all lined up to star. But now some typically pesky scheduling issues mean he's out, and they need a new leading man. Fortunately, they've found one in Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Patrick Vollrath is writing and directing, making his full-length debut after scoring an Oscar nomination for his most recent live-action short film.
Gordon-Levitt is aboard to play Tobias Ellis, a co-pilot on a commercial flight who has to deal with danger when terrorists hijack the plane at 30,000 feet. Vollrath has just started the cameras rolling, and will shoot in Cologne and Vienna. As for Gordon-Levitt's other future plans, he has several films in the works, including a Fraggle Rock movie and Wingmen, the comedy musical he'll direct and star in alongside Channing Tatum. Oh, and – spoiler alert – if you listen closely during Star Wars: The Last Jedi, you might just hear his voice, recorded as a cameo for his old friend and director Rian Johnson.
