There's a shiny new issue of Empire on the shelves right now – and right at the front, there's a world exclusive from Pacific Rim: Uprising, the sequel to Guillermo Del Toro's mad 2013 monster mash-up. As a sneak preview from the issue, here's an exclusive look at the Uprising, featuring new stars John Boyega and Scott Eastwood.
Speaking to Empire on the film's set, Boyega teased that his character, Jake Pentecost (son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost from the first film) is no hero. “At the start of the film, he is an absolute crook,” says Boyega. “There are rogue Jaegers where people have collected spare parts and made their own machines. Jake is stealing from people and selling Jaeger parts.” Boyega, also a producer on the film, admits the shoot was "hard work,” “I had to slide down a Jaeger arm from top to bottom. I dropped down 20 feet straight. That was messed up.”
