Time to stock up on Marmalade. Paddington is back, three short years after charming the duffel coat off us all with his first big-screen outing back in 2014. The lovable bear from darkest Peru returns to the big screen next month with Paddington 2 – and following last May's teaser, we’ve been treated to our first glimpse of the sequel. Take a look at the Paddington 2 teaser here.
Ben Whishaw is returning to lend his dulcet tones to the animated bear, joined in live action by Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins as the Browns – and this time around, Hugh Grant has been added to the roster on villain duties as the faded actor Phoenix Buchanan. Also starring are such British stalwarts as Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi and Jim Broadbent, there’s new potential baddies in the form of Hugh Grant.
The original film's director, Paul King, is calling the shots again, directing from a script he has co-written with Mindhorn star and fellow Mighty Boosh alumni Simon Farnaby.
Pack a sandwich: Paddington 2 arrives in UK cinemas on 10 November, ahead of the US release in January 2018. Read all about it in the new issue of Empire, on sale Thursday.
