His son is one of the biggest movie stars in the world right now, but that doesn't mean former TV wrestler and WWE Hall Of Fame member Rocky Johnson – Dwayne's dad – can't have his own film. A new biopic of the man, called Ring King is in development.

Indie filmmakers Jonathan and Justin Gajewski, pictured above with the man himself, will write and direct the film, which will chronicle Johnson's story. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada as Wade Douglas Bowels, Johnson kicked off his wrestling career in 1964, jumping into various rings around Toronto. He ventured to the States during the Civil Rights movement and faced racial prejudice outside the ring, becoming among the first black wrestlers to demand and receive a contract.

The Hollywood Reporter's story doesn't mention whether the younger Johnson will be involved, but you know he'll have something to say.
