There have been many rumours and much speculation about the future of the Bond franchise and the latest round of possibility is focusing on a well-known name for the director's chair: according to Variety, Danny Boyle is top of Eon and MGM's list to make the 25th official outing of the spy.

While there has apparently been no formal offer, movement on this one is helped by Boyle's long-standing appreciation for the film series and his desire to direct one. And let's be honest – aren't you itching to see what Boyle could bring to Bond? And it's not like he hasn't directed Bond before – remember the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony?

As of right now, the only confirmed element is Daniel Craig returning, likely for the last time, as the main character. And there has still yet to be any announcement about a company to handle international distribution for the movies (MGM has the rights in the US), so we're all waiting to see where the future of the movies lies. But with a November 2019 release date on the books, this one needs to get moving as soon as possible.
