Dan Stevens On For Pale Blue Dot

When Dan Stevens works with Noah Hawley on Legion, the results are often weird and occasionally mind-bending. We're predicting far fewer examples of surreality but no less drama as Stevens joins the cast of Hawley's feature directorial debut Pale Blue Dot.

The film follows what happens when Natalie Portman's married astronaut returns from space and kicks off an affair with one of her colleagues (Jon Hamm). Affected by the experience of spending a long time in space and seeing the Earth from a distance, she falls into a downward spiral, a situation only made worse when her lover strikes up his own affair with a trainee (Deadpool 2's Zazie Beetz). The story has its grounding in a real-life story, that of former NASA officer Lisa Marie Nowak, who was arrested for attempting to kidnap a romantic rival in 2007.

Stevens, continuing a theme he started with a luckless boyfriend in Colossal, will be Portman's husband. He's worked on Gareth Evans' Apostle and will be seen in punk rock drama Her Smell.
