Fifty Shades news in the last couple of weeks has been concentrated on the first sequel, with Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcote both signing up for Fifty Shades Darker. But lest we forget, parts two and three of the trilogy begun by Fifty Shades Of Grey are shooting back-to-back, so we're now also starting to see reports on threequel Fifty Shades Freed. Arielle Kebbel is the first new cast member to join Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan for the grand climax.
If she's not currently on the tip of your tongue, Kebbel's most recent TV work has included The Grinders and Ballers. Film-wise she was in Daniel Schechter's Supporting Characters and Tim Story's Think Like A Man, both in 2012. Earlier than that she paid her horror dues in the likes of The Uninvited and The Grudge 2. In Fifty Shades Freed she'll play Gia Matteo, dubbed "Miss-Provocative-And-Unfortunately-Good-At-Her-Job" by Anastasia. She's the beautiful architect Grey hires to build his new house.
Niall Leonard – husband of the novels' original author E.L. James – has been working on scripts with his wife, with James Foley on board to direct both this and Fifty Shades Darker.
Shooting on Darker is already underway and it arrives on February 10 next year. Freed lands on February 19, 2018.
