Before he's back battling new threats in Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman will be seen as a man who was a real-life crusader for the law, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. The latest trailer for the film about one of his cases, and the man himself, Marshall, is now online.
At the time the story takes place, Marshall had yet to attain his own Supreme Court status and was working as a lawyer. Josh Gad plays insurance lawyer Sam Friedman, who worked with Marshall in the defence of black New York chauffeur Joseph Spell (recent Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown) in 1940. The latter had been falsely accused by his white employer of sexual assault and attempted murder. The case It paved the way for the Civil Rights Movement of subsequent decades, and Marshall went on to successfully fight numerous cases. His most significant and justly famous win resulted in the desegregation of America's public schools.
Reginald Hudlin directed the film, which also features Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens and James Cromwell. It'll be out in the UK on 20 October.
