She's about to burst into the MCU early next year playing the title role in Captain Marvel (you can watch the latest trailer here), but Brie Larson is not swapping indie drama land for blockbuster territory full time. She's also now signed on to star in Charlie Kaufman's new film, I'm Thinking Of Ending Things.
For this latest, Netflix-backed endeavour, Kaufman has adapted Iain Reid’s 2016 novel, which follows a bloke called Jake making a trip to visit his parents on their secluded farm. He's bringing his girlfriend (unnamed in the book and presumably in the film), who is, as the title suggests, thinking of ending the relationship – and possibly more. When Jake makes an unexpected detour leaving her stranded, a twisted mix of palpable tension, psychological frailty and sheer terror ensues...
With Captain Marvel due on 8 March, Larson will also be found teaming up again with Short Term 12 and The Glass Castle director Destin Daniel Cretton for legal drama Just Mercy, which stars Michael B. Jordan, but doesn't have a UK release date yet.
