Though there have been teething issues with Sony's plans to spin-off a series of Spider-Man-related (but non-directly MCU) movies, with at least one already back in the development workshop and others slowly chugging through the process, that isn't stopping the studio and producer Amy Pascal from working up other adaptations. The latest reportedly headed into the early stages is Silk.

Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Silk (AKA Cindy Moon), is a Korean-American young woman bitten around the same time as Peter by another radioactive spider. That incident leaves her with similar powers – she's faster, has stronger spider-sense and cam shoot webs from her fingertips.

The character (in non-spider-bitten form) actually appears in Spider-Man: Homecoming, played by Tiffany Espensen as one of Peter's academic decathlon team members. Whether she ends up taking the role in any stand-alone Silk film is debatable, and we'll see what happens with the film, assuming Sony actually confirms it.

Meanwhile, we have Venom finally due on 5 October, followed by Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse on 14 December.
