Jason Biggs is back, and it turns out that’s a good thing. The most successful pie seducer in movie history is using his mojo on an object more worthy of his attentions, and the result is a comedy with genuine charm. Biggs plays a sadsack who proposes to a waitress (Isla Fisher) to settle a bet with his best friend. When she says yes, the pair muddle through a series of obstacles — including randy parents, escaped convicts, arrest and circus performers — on their way to (maybe) true love. There’s little or no originality, but sufficient laugh-out-loud moments to make this an entertaining little effort, while Fisher is as cute as an entire button shop in her first major leading role.
