If you’re a fan of ‘extreme skiing’ (ie. hurling yourself down terrifyingly steep terrain with sticks on your feet), this film is your Holy Grail. If you’re anyone else, it’s an interesting potted history of the sport, with archive footage of the most dangerous stunts and interviews with all the big hitters. Old-hand Bill Briggs, who skied down Wyoming’s Grand Teton in 1971, is sweetly proud of his achievements, while the likes of Mohicaned Glen Plake are more interested in overt showmanship. If you can bear the rollcall of dudes proclaiming, “You need to feel what the mountains are saying to you, man”, you’ll be rewarded with a man skiing, Bond-style, off the edge of a cliff before parachuting down.

If you’re a fan of extreme skiing, this film is your Holy Grail.
