Original Title:

Run For Your Wife

Pending the surely never-to-happen Carry On reboot, this amiable farce will have to do: Ray Cooney’s all-Brit-star adaptation of his West End hit about a London cabbie whose bigamous lifestyle starts to unravel after he makes the local news as a have-a-go hero. Danny Dyer is the lead, a Jack the laaaad in the Robin Askwith mould. And if that name rings a bell, you’re in for a treat, since the real heroes of this naff but harmless comedy are the supporting cast of stage and sitcom legends, now so elderly that even they probably don’t know who they are anymore.

A cheery but hackneyed comedy that boasts cameos appearances from Cliff Richard, Lionel Blair, Russ Abbot and Rolf Harris. Somewhere out there is a Royal Variety show missing its line-up.
