A decent little DTV cyberpunk tale, abuzz with ideas and energy, has competing factions working on a matter duplication process that produces an evil clone of hero Michael St. Gerard. The plot is mainly running about darkened alleyways and techno-throb clubs, but the film is dotted with neat little bits of background, like the cable TV channel devoted entirely to crime. It has lower-case stars, though cyberpunkette Brigitte Bako is appealing and reliable Ned Beatty holds up his end as a wheezing future cop.
