Original Title:

Pinocchio

The quality of Walt Disney's second feature — which boasts an Academy Award winning score and song (When You Wish Upon A Star) — still shines through decades on.

The preaching against the evils of actors, drink, pool (!) and smoking seems a bit heavy-handed even for a kids' film, but the story covers more ground than most of the studio's early output and, although the animation shows its age, the characters and songs are as distinctive as ever.

Not up there with the very top echelon of Disney classics, but Pinocchio will still work its magic on younger viewers.
