Based on uberhorror writer Dean R. Koontz's bestseller, director Dick Lowry has succeeded in turning a suspenseful tale of government cloning into a mediocre shambles. You have to wonder whether Lowry or writer Stephen Tolkin read the bestselling novel at all. Stephen Baldwin plays a mystery novelist who is unwittingly cloned and later meets his clone, who looks identical to him, but has the mind of a murderer. Baldwin is awful as he mugs his way through a plot that deals with some nasty DNA alter-ego out to get him and his family.
