Teen star Selena Gomez leads this cross between The Princess Diaries and the Olsen twins’ When In Rome. She’s Grace, a Texan holidaying in Paris with half sister Meg (Leighton Meester) and friend Emma (Katie Cassidy). When Grace is mistaken for a British heiress (also Gomez) she steps into her shoes for a Monte Carlo charity gig while the celeb goes AWOL. While the story outline and incidental music nod to ’60s farce, the execution’s too clumsy and the dialogue too stilted to draw laughs (save one moment from Catherine Tate, oddly). This is breezy, brazen wish fulfilment: the girls are limo-ed from private jet to hotel suite to parties full of handsome single young men, their luggage bursting with bling. It’s not quality filmmaking, but it does the job: basically tween porn.

Glossy entertainment for tweens. Avoid if you're over 14.
