The problem with casting ridiculously good-looking people in a drama like this is that it becomes a little distracting. This entire cast is so attractive, their not-inconsiderable acting ability, as a married couple (Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington) are tempted towards infidelity during a night apart, is sometimes overshadowed by their perfect bone structure. The emotions are universal, the script’s dissection of said emotions involving and incisive, but it has just a bit more gloss than it needed. While the film is talky and sometimes stagey, writer and debutante director Massy Tadjedin is one to keep an eye on — especially if the performances she elicits are always this good.

Somehow less than the sum of its very impressive parts. Massy Tadjedin brings out the best of her strong cast but all the eyeball-melting beautyon display and the highly polished treatment of the story could have done with a touch of authentic grit.
