This enjoyable Elvis vehicle sees Presley as a crop-dusting pilot embroiled in a smuggling operation by his feckless partner (Lockwood - yes, he from 2001: A Space Odyssey). Meanwhile, amid the colourful surroundings of Seattle's 1962 World's Fair (atop the Space Needle, aboard the Monorail, etc.), Elvis pitches woo to vapid love interest Joan O'Brien with the assistance of ten not-bad songs and the winsome child he's babysitting. It's going to win any new converts, but for fans this is one of the better entries on the Presley cinematic CV.
Eyes peeled for 11 year-old Kurt Russell kicking Elvis in the shin; 16 years later he was Emmy-nominated for his performance as Elvis in the excellent TV biopic.
