Reggie (Owen Wilson) is a runty turkey pardoned by the President at Thanksgiving and left to happily live a life uneaten. Then a dim bird (Harrelson) wrecks it all by forcing him to come back to the first Thanksgiving in a time machine to save all turkey kind from centuries of festive death. It’s a screwy plot for a film that has trouble settling into a clear story. There are cute moments with the birds, but the villains are so vague that there’s very little in the way of peril or narrative momentum. And saving turkeys from Thanksgiving fails to account for the horror of Christmas.
