Why didn't someone think of it before? You stick a bunch of extreme sports nutters and a commercials crew up an Austrian mountain, then have them accidentally catch on film a mad Serbian warlord who faked his own death.
Credibility is red-carded early on, as the life-or-death scenario forces 'our heroes' into performing increasingly wild stunts. Unfortunately, 'our heroes' are spoilt assholes who are almost impossible to like, leaving us only Rufus Sewell and his comedy cynicism to root for. The story is so ludicrous that there's no real sense of danger, even though the snow-bound sets are marginally more realistic than in Vertical Limit.
