Exceptional performances just about keep a preposterously convoluted plot on track in this noirish comedy debut about a fan's devotion to a fallen idol. The bickering cop subplot works fitfully, but Sandrine Kiberlain's exquisite sense of timing holds things together.

Well played, especially by Sandrine Kiberlain, but Jeanne Henry's film lacks consistency to be great
