Dick

Despite making its UK debut on the small screen, this energetic teencom is a cut above many movies which suffer a similar fate, cleverly re-imagining the Watergate scandal and giving a prominent role in it to two dippy teens on a tour of the White House.

Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams star as ditzy best buds who land a summer job walking Richard Nixon (Dan Hedaya)'s pet pooch, and unwittingly become caught up in the Watergate scandal.

It's uneven, but the leads are excellent, and there's lots of fun to be had watching the airheaded twosome do things like plying the Prez with pot-laced cookies.

It's hardly political drama at its most cutting and insightful, but this is entertaining fluff of the highest order.
