Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel

Think of fashion and Zoolander no doubt springs to mind, but as this engaging and drily funny documentary shows, this is an industry that can and does — well, sometimes — have a sense of humour about itself. Based on audio tapes made by leading fashionista Diana (pronounced DEE-anna) Vreeland as she prepared her 1984 autobiography DV, The Eye Has To Travel offers a prosaic but still persuasive portrait of a woman whose thoughts on fashion and beauty — dating back to the ’30s when she was aged 34 — still seem quite shockingly modern today.

Bursting with insights and a droll sense of the absurd side of fashion, it's a fitting tribute to one of the industry's key figures.
