Doom-merchant director Abel Ferrara is still committing his obsessions and dark fantasies of sex and death to celluloid instead of exploring them from the privacy of an analysts couch. In this particularly ugly navel gaze, pony-tailed director Harvey Keitel leaves his reality (wife, child and snowy New York) for the unreality of L.A. and the set of his new movie, Mother Of Mirrors, in which his leads, Madonna and James Russo, are to tear each other apart in a scenario of recrimination, rape and other such nastiness. Before long, however, the distinction between art and reality is becoming blurred and youve hit the eject button.
