An agoraphobic worm turns on the mutant hoodies that kidnapped his baby in this horror thriller. It’s well intentioned and sporadically effective but mostly laughable. Lifts work in derelict buildings; nobody ever uses a mobile or calls the police; and saboteurs begin their demolition work at the bottom of tower blocks, blocking their exits. There’s some lip service paid to the idea that not all inner-city kids are necessarily murderous homunculi, but the film has none of the brutal wit of Eden Lake or the slickness of Them.

Plenty of pungent ideas and a nice line in urban terror. The final product falls short of the best in Brit horror, though.
