Original Title:

Big Store, The

The odd thing about The Big Store is the fact that it's famous much less for the Marx Brothers as for Tony Martin's spirited rendition of one of the all time schlock classic songs, The Tenement Symphony.

So far as intentional comedy-is concerned, it's mainly empty shelves with private detective Groucho and his two assistants helping out another dull youngster against yet another swindling villain. Their last film with MGM and possibly their worst.

Has it's moments, though they are widely spaced.
