The Babe Review

Yet another biopic of the legendary Yankee "slugger" - baseball speak for big hitter - this stars John Goodman as George Herman "Babe" Ruth, and follows the sporting hero from his early days at a strict Catholic boys' home where his slugging skills were first recognised, through to his later life as national celebrity. Goodman inhabits the large role with much vigour and a stupid hairdo, choffing down the food, spoiling the kids in his audience and coming on to the ladies with the gusto of a slob.
