A group of pharmaceutical employees embark on an expedition to the Borneo jungle, seeking a rare orchid that they suspect contains a life-extending chemical. Then, via a plot as translucent as discarded snakeskin, they stumble across a bed of impossibly large and unconvincing CG serpents.
Anacondas' predecessor slithered into cinemas in 1997, displaying the markings of a trashy, freaky-creature horror flick - and it was just that. Its most intriguing factor, at least with the benefit of hindsight, was the casting of J.Lo, Eric Stoltz, Jon Voight and Owen Wilson - not bad for a movie that was bound to suck more than a toothless cobra.
But you won't find any of them, or indeed anyone approaching their misplaced calibre, in this ropey sequel - just like you'd never find an anaconda in Borneo.
