Zooey Deschanel, a delightful woman despite insisting on a name that flagrantly abandons all pretence at pronouncability, has signed on to play the lead in Jim Carrey's next movie, Yes Man.
The Peyton Reed directed movie, based on Danny Wallace's book, sees Carrey as a man who decides that for the next year he will say yes to every question he's asked. At the moment, Deschanel's character is simply described as a woman he meets.
Deschanel should make a nice addition to the movie. She's a terrific actress and always brings an appealing hint of cynicism to any mainstream movie she graces with her presence. As evidence we give you Elf. But not our copy because it's gone missing.
