Here we go again... The seemingly poisoned chalice that is the directing assignment on Sony's adaptation of the Uncharted is now likely to end up in the hands of Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer, who has landed at the top of the studio's wishlist.
The Uncharted series, should you be unaware, is a globe-trotting, loot-hunting set of Playstation games, blending Indiana Jones-style adventuring with several parts Tomb Raider and just a dash of National Treasure. Its hero is Nathan Drake (voiced by Nolan North), who undertakes action-packed trips to the likes of El Dorado, Shambala and the Iram of the Pillars, quipping many a quip and shooting many a henchman along the way.
A film based on the game has become a revolving door of filmmakers and actors, with Bumblebee's Travis Knight the most recent director to vacate the seat as the studio aims to have the movie shooting before current star Tom Holland swings off to appear in the next Spider-Man film later this year.
Fleischer has worked on several Sony movies including Venom and Zombieland: Double Tap. Can he finally bring Uncharted to the screen? Excuse us if we don't hold our breath just yet. Meanwhile, here's Everything You Need To Know about the attempt to adapt the game.
