We're creeping ever closer to a time when the Zombieland sequel will be actual reality, and only 10 years after the original. With Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin all back for this one, director Ruben Fleischer has begun to fill out some new roles, with Zoey Deutch the first fresh name to join the cast.
With the original film's Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick back as writers following their time spent helping Deadpool's Merc With A Mouth his quippy voice, the sequel finds Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock travelling from the White House to the American heartland, facing off against new, evolving zombies and some other human survivors.
Variety reports that Deutch's character is unknown for now, though chances are she's playing one of the new humans – for how long is another mystery.
The cameras should be rolling in January, with Sony looking to have the movie out on 11 October next year, right out the time the first film was released back in 2009.
Deutch has seen success with Netflix's Set It Up and is stying with the streaming service for Ryan Murphy's new series, The Politician.
