She might have fallen out with Michael Bay and been unceremoniously replaced on the last Transformers film, but it would appear that Megan Fox still has plenty of cheerleaders at Paramount. And Zoe Saldana is on even better terms with the studio, since she’s one of their Star Trek crew. Now the company has nabbed heist spec script Swindle to turn into a star vehicle for the pair.
In fact, the original idea to team up came from Saldana and Fox, who have been looking for something to work on together. Spotting the possibilities (they both have plenty of box office appeal and aren’t exactly hard on the eyes), Paramount acted quickly to snatch Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson’s script from the bargaining table before Universal could get its hands on it.
We don’t yet know what exactly it’s about, beyond the heist concept. The only solid detail Deadline could ferret out was that Moneyball producer Michael De Luca will oversee the development process.
Megan Fox will next be seen in Friends With Kids, which opens here on June 29, followed by another comedy, Judd Apatow’s This Is 40, on December 21. Zoe Saldana is back on the bridge of the Enterprise shooting the Star Trek sequel, which docks on May 17, 2013.
