She’s just shot her way into US cinemas with revenge thriller Colombiana (we get to see it over here on September 9), but Zoe Saldana is already looking to a future role. The actress is slipping on a producer’s hat for the firs time, setting up supernatural film Dominion at Paramount.

Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings have written the script pitch, about which very little is known. The Hollywood Reporter was able to dig up the fact that Saldana’s lead character is a half-human, half-angel type who, we assume, manages to kick plenty of butt.

Angels rarely seem to go out of fashion at the cinema and there are several movies about seraphs and others on the way, most notably Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost, which is based on John Milton’s epic poem about the fall of Lucifer.

Saldana, meanwhile, will next crop up in plagiarism drama The Words alongside Bradley Cooper and Olivia Wilde, and is attached to bipolar disorder pic Infinitely Polar Bear. Plus she’ll also be finding time to return as Uhura in the next Trek movie and Neytiri for James Cameron’s Avatar sequels…
