Zeta-Jones Says Yes

Celebrity-run websites got a huge boost today when Michael Douglas used the internet to announce his engagement to British actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. In a huge publicity push for his official site, which will be up and running from 1 February 2000, Douglas posted the following message to his fans. 'I am very happy to announce that I am engaged to Catherine Zeta Jones. I proposed to Catherine on New Year's Eve, at my house in Aspen. I met Catherine at the Deauville Film Festival in August of 1998, and we have been dating since March of 1999. We plan to marry sometime this year, however, no date has been set. The announcement ends months of useless speculation by the tabloids as to the state of the relationship between Zeta Jones and Douglas. It will be the second marriage for Douglas, who divorced his first wife Diandra back in 1995.
