Dream Scenario director Kristoffer Borgli has found himself in, well, a dream scenario aptly enough. Hot on the heels of his wackadoodle Nic Cage starrer from last year, the Norwegian filmmaker is preparing to reteam with A24 for his next feature, The Drama — and he's got two incredible actors eyed to lead it. According to Deadline, Dune star Zendaya and The Batman's Robert Pattinson are both in early negotiations to lead the project, written by Borgli himself and set to be produced by Midsommar helmsman Ari Aster.
Per Deadline's reporting, A24 were keen to work with Borgli again after the success of the Sick Of Myself director's aforementioned, Cage-stuffed psycho-comic-drama, and even more-so once Zendaya became interested in the project. And although details on what exactly The Drama will revolve around are currently being kept shtum, word on the street is that the movie will follow a couple whose romance takes an unexpected turn just before they're set to tie the knot. Honestly, with Pattinson being handy with a Bat and Zendaya knowing her way around a racket, you'd have thought the duo's first screen team-up would be a (game-set-)match made in heaven — but alas!
There's no word as of yet on when we can expect to see The Drama unfold, but with Pattinson and Zendaya both booked and busy, it may be a wee while yet. For Pattinson, the Good Time actor has his long-awaited Bong Joon-Ho sci-fi Mickey 17 on its way next year, is about to start shooting Die, My Love with Lynne Ramsay, and has a Possession remake in the pipeline. And as for Zendaya, who's already had a busy year with Challengers and Dune: Part Two, Villeneuve trilogy capper Dune: Messiah and the upcoming Euphoria Season 3 both await. However long we must wait though, of one thing we can be sure: we are most definitely here for The Drama!
