Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr are in negotiations to star in Chilled in Miami, a rom-com formerly known as "32 And Single", presumably until they decided that that was just too depressing for the modern woman.
The story is a fish out of water tale about a Miami businesswoman transferred to the sticks in Minnesota. We're going to go out on a limb here and say that Zellweger's the businesswoman, and Connick Jr's going to be wearing plaid shirts and driving a pick-up truck. Yup, we like to live on the edge like that.
So by the sounds of it, it's a gender-reversed Doc Hollywood, a Baby Boom without the baby and a Cars without the, er, cars - but let's hope they come up with an original spin on it, eh? Danish director Jonas Elmer is in charge - he's not a big name outside Denmark yet but his last film, Nynne, was apparently dubbed "the Danish Bridget Jones" - so you can see why somebody hired him for this.
Shooting starts in January in Miami and Winnepeg, giving us time to ponder the question - why call it "Chilled in Miami" if it's mostly set outside Miami and features a character who, we're willing to bet, spends 99% of the movie being unchilled?
