We've barely had time to catch our breath from his new and improvedJustice Leaguecut, yet the next Zack Snyder epic is already upon us: zombie heist Army of the Dead is so nearly here, and it's just got a brand new trailer. It's a pretty elusive tagline for such an explosive movie, but it certainly sets the bar for a high-stakes outing: "To get $200 million out, they're going all in."
Dave Bautista leads the film as Las Vegas local Scott Ward (a former zombie war hero, naturally), who is tasked with breaking into the city's quarantine zone to retrieve $200 million before the government nukes the city. He's got a chance to be a hero and also reunite with his estranged daughter Kate (Ella Purnell), in just 32 hours. The catch? The zone is infested with zombies, and Scott's going to need one hell of a crew to help him pull off this heist.
It's characteristically major stuff from Snyder, with no character too outlandish and no explosion too over the top. The trailer teases all the players set to make waves as part of Scott's crew: zombie killing machine Vanderohe (Omari Hardwick), badass warrior Coyote (Nora Arnezeder), German safe cracker Dieter (Mattias Schweighöfer), ace mechanic Maria Cruz (Ana de la Reguera) and cynical helicopter pilot Marianne Peters (Tig Notaro).
The zombies, too, have a lot to offer in Snyder's world – the undead are smart and fast here, certainly living up to their titles as an Alpha pack. And if that wasn't enough: Scott's ragtag team will also have to take on a zombie tiger. Because of course.
Army of the Dead will be launching on Netflix worldwide on 21 May – keep the whole day free and your wits about you. These are Alphas, after all.
