The story of notorious serial killer Ted Bundy is one that has been brought to the screen before. Now Joe Berlinger is tackling the topic, with Zac Efron starring in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile. The new trailer is online.

Michael Werwie wrote the script, which explores the crimes of Bundy through the eyes of his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who eventually wrote a tell-all about her experiences. Despite years of denial about his horrific murders, she eventually turned him into the police. But even she wasn't quire aware of the extent of his actions until he began talking about them closer to his execution.

In the film, we see the point of view of Liz Kendall (Lily Collins), who is a single mother, cautious, but smitten with Bundy (Efron). A picture of domestic bliss, the two seem to have it all figured out. That is until Ted is arrested and charged with a series of increasingly grisly murders. As concern turns to paranoia, Liz is forced to consider how well she knows the man she shares a life with and, as the evidence piles up, decide if Ted is truly a victim, or actually guilty as charged.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile has just had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and heads to UK screens via Sky Cinema this year.
