In this era of every Stephen King story ever headed into adaptation, part of that is remakes of movies that have already been produced from his work. Team Blumhouse is cooking up a fresh take on Firestarter and have Zac Efron attached to play the pyrokinetic young 'un's father.

Keith Thomas, who made The Vigil for Blumhouse, will work from a script by Halloween Kills' Scott Teems. The plot is likely to follow a similar track to the book and the 1984 movie, in which Drew Barrymore played a young girl who develops the power to cause flames with her brain and is kidnapped by a government agency looking to harness her abilities as a weapon.

This is just the latest step on Firestarter's path back to the screen: with Universal planning the film back in 2010 and Akiva Goldsman attached to direct in 2017. He's still on board as a producer via his Weed Road company.
